Plan B and Chris Martin Back Noise Induced Hearing Loss Campaign

Chris Martin and Plan B have been backing the use of ear plugs this week. He suggests them as an effective method of combating hearing loss from excessive sound volumes at concerts.  The Action On Hearing Loss campaign encourages all concert and club goers to use good quality ear plugs. This is in order to avoid the permanent hearing loss and tinnitus that can be caused by the music in these venues.

Tinnitus is a ringing, buzzing or humming sound experienced as coming from the ears when no external source of sound is present.  Noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) is a very important cause of acquired deafness. This is because it is possible to prevent it by wearing adequate ear plugs when exposed to excessive noise levels. Both Plan B and Chris Martin suffer from tinnitus and hearing loss due to excessive noise levels. This is one of the main reasons for them backing this campaign.

The effect of tinnitus is not to be underestimated. Having a continuous loud ringing in your ears can lead to difficulty hearing, distraction at work and difficulty socialising. People lose friends and spouses as  result. People may become insomniac, depressed and anxious. It is to be avoided if possible; wear your ear plugs whenever you are exposed to dangerous noise levels.

Molded ear plugs such as ours from www.zenplugs.com/molded-earplugs are ideal because they are individually fitted to each ear. This creates a high-quality seal and excluding sound effectively.  ZenPlugs Molded Ear Plugs are great for use at festivals, concerts and in clubs.  They are strong, resilient and connected on a cord. If they are dropped on the floor and trodden on they can still be retrieved and used again. This is unlike foam, wax or soft silicon plugs which will be damaged and can't be wiped clean.  They are additionally antibacterial, helping to protect your ears from ear infections. These are common cause of ear pain and discharge.
